Town Football Club U10 Match Reports 2010/2011
Horncastle Town
Football Clubs youngest team have started the season very well. They
have so far played five games of which they have won four and
lost one.
What is so pleasing is that these young lads are
playing good football with some excellent passing. The
majority of the boys started playing football on a Saturday
morning on the Wong. I personally believe what a fantastic
opportunity that Horncastle Town have given the young lads
with the introduction of the "Rugrats", it certainly
does help them when they start playing league football.
Horncastle Town vs.
Clayton Wanderers
The under 10's first game
was at home against Clayton Wanderers, and in a tight and
tense affair the boys were very unlucky and lost the game 2 -
4 with Daniel Robins and Riley Curzon scoring Town's
goals either side of half-time.

Horncastle Town vs.
Clayton Wanderers
The boys first away game a
week later was again against Clayton Wanderers this time they
came away from Lincoln with a victory. The Town team played
some really good football and fully deserved the 1- 3 win.
Going behind early on the boys worked hard with Henry Wilson
scoring two, one a fantastic free kick with Daniel Robins
making sure of the win with the third.
Mablethorpe vs.
Horncastle Town
A trip to the seaside saw
Town take on Mablethorpe, again Town, with some great passing created
a lot of goal scoring opportunities scoring nine with Henry
Wilson scoring four, Daniel Robins scoring three and Miles
Kavanagh and Ollie Dean getting one each.
Saxilby
vs. Horncastle Town
Towns u10s third away game
in a row saw us take on Saxilby the same day that Horncastle
Sunday league team were also there with both teams coming away
jubilant with full points. We created a lot of chances with
Harry Close scoring a hat-trick, again Daniel Robins found the
back of the net, Ollie Dean for his second of the season also
Archie Offord came off the bench to score. With Kieran Johnson
keeping a clean sheet Horncastle won 6 - 0.
Horncastle Town vs.
Mablethorpe
Mablethorpe were Town's next
opponents, when they came to Horncastle for the return match
the Horncastle boys were keen to get on the pitch after not
having a game for a fortnight. Mablethorpe had signed a couple
of new players and were looking stronger than the last time we
played them. It was Town who scored first with Archie
Offord following up his initial shot. Daniel Robins scored his
first of the day with a great shot, his second saw some
fantastic football being played with a right foot cross by
Henry Wilson who found Daniel in the box with great technique
half-volleyed the ball into the net. With Kieran Johnson being
out of the country Miles Kavanagh was in goal and he couldn't
do anything about the only goal Town conceded. The
introduction of Riley Curzon caused problems in the
Mablethorpe defence, he then found Henry Wilson who slotted
the ball home for Towns fourth goal. Henry was soon to get his
eighth of the season when his shot went straight through the
keepers hands. A great move down the left found Riley Curzon
in the box he sent his left foot strike past the keeper to
make it number six for Town.
A great team performance -
keep it up boys!
