Horncastle Town u11's travelled to Burgh le Marsh on Sunday for their away game against the East Coast.  Due to injuries and players away Town had a squad of just eleven, with an unfamiliar pairing of Logan Waby and Charlie Harrison Town soon took the game to their opponents.

Waby had Town's first chance, he ran on to a great pass from Henry Wilson but he fired his shot just wide of the post.

Wilson on the left wing cut inside unleashing a shot again going just wide of the target. Wilson was released down the left wing, this time he crossed the ball into the area and striker Harrison met the ball and placed it past the keeper.
Town soon doubled their lead the impressive Wilson this time went for goal, his shot had looked to of beaten the keeper but Harrison made certain of a goal when he smashed the ball into the net.

Horncastle looked dangerous every time they moved the ball forward and they were unlucky not to add to their score with both Wilson and Waby seeing their shots just go wide of the target.

Travis Ayres in the Town goal made an excellent save from the East Coast striker, on the edge of his area he bravely dived at the feet to block the strikers effort.

A long clearance from Town's captain Olllie Dean dropped just behind the East Coast defence, Waby raced on to the ball and coolly placed the ball into the net for his first of the season.

The start of the second half saw Town add to the score line, Wilson was bought down on the edge of the area, Waby took the free kick and fired the ball over the keeper into the corner of the net.

Town looking threatening every time they broke were soon celebrating again when Archie Offord delivered an excellent corner where he found midfield partner Harry Close, his flicked header went into the six yard box, unfortunately for the East Coast defender he put the ball into his own net when he tried to clear the ball.

East Coast were rewarded a free kick after central defender Ricky Marceniuk bought down their player just outside the box, it was a great delivery that found an East Coast player who headed the ball past Ayres into the goal.
A great move involving Wilson and Waby found Offord on the edge of the area, his shot looked to have beaten the keeper but he produced a fantastic save.
Town were at times playing some very attractive football, a clever pass from Harrison found strike partner Waby who made no mistake as he slotted the ball past the keeper for his hat trick.

A good move saw East Coast double their score, Town keeper Ayres was very unlucky as the striker came into his area Ayres came off his line to close the player down but he still managed to get the ball past him and into the goal.

As the game was coming to an end there was still time for Harrison to also complete his hat rick, Offord had a shot well saved, Waby then saw his shot saved but the keeper had parried the ball out to Harrison who placed the ball into the net.

Team; Travis Ayres, Chris Bargh, Ricky Marceniuk, Oliver Dean, Miles Kavanagh, Joe Kirk, Archie Offord, Harry Close, Henry Wilson, Logan Waby and Charlie Harrison.

Town played a very good and well organised Sleaford Town team.
Horncastle were soon a goal down ten minutes into the game, Sleaford were rewarded a free kick on the right-hand side of the penalty area, their player found the back of the net with a great strike.

With Town under constant pressure Ricky Marceniuk was judged to have handled the ball in the box the referee had no choice but to award a penalty. Kieran Johnson in the Town goal saved the penalty that was his straight at him.
Sleaford soon doubled their lead when a ball was played into the six yard box and was poked home by their striker.

Horncastle struggled to clear a Sleaford corner and were down by three goals as one of their players headed the ball into the net.
As the half was coming to an end a superb shot from a Sleaford player from around twenty yards out found the back of Town's net.

Town started the second half really well and was soon a goal to the good when winger Joe Kirk took on the Sleaford defence before placing the ball past the visiting keeper.

It was Kirk who nearly doubled his and Town's tally but he saw his strike well saved. A Sleaford corner saw Town go further behind as their player shot over Johnson after Town failed to clear. A great individual goal by the Sleaford winger saw Town concede again even though Johnson managed to get his hands on the ball.

On Sunday Horncastle Town under 11's were involved in a fantastic game at home to Swifts.Town began brightly winger Henry Wilson a constant threat every time he received the ball. It was Wilson's great run down the left wing that created Town's first chance; he played the ball over to Joe Kirk who shot just over the bar.  Town piled on the pressure, a shot from inside the box by Harry Close saw Town rewarded a penalty after a defender handled the ball. Archie Offord stepped up to take the spot kick, he drilled the ball down the middle but the keeper managed to tip it over for a corner.

Horncastle were soon a goal down when the Swift striker ran on to a ball that was played over the top of Town's defence, Kieran Johnson came out to narrow the angle but he still managed to put the ball in the net.  Town were soon level, Harry Close played a good through ball to Charlie Harrison whose shot passed the keeper for his second goal of the season.

A long clearance from the Swifts keeper caused Town's defence problems, again the ball bounced over the last defender, the striker ran on to the ball and lobbed it over Town keeper Johnson.Town were punished again as half-time approached, a goal kick from Johnson was picked up by a Swift player who ran straight towards the Town goal and placed the ball past the keeper into the net.

Town started the second half as they did the first, after some good work by Close he released the ball to Daniel Robins who crossed the ball to Wilson who looked likely to score but was denied by the impressive keeper.  Swifts, struggling to get out of their own half as Town was really getting to grips with the game, striker Robins was foiled again by the keeper but the ball rebounded to Kirk but he also saw his shot saved well.

Wilson delivered a great ball from a corner, the Swift defence did well to clear but the ball fell to Town captain Ollie Dean who then smashed the ball over the keeper in to the goal.  Town continued to peg back Swifts, another corner from Wilson saw Town level the game when stiker Robins pounced on a loose ball in the six yard area.  Town had played really well and fully deserved to be level but all their hard work was to be undone as Swifts broke out of their own half, their left winger managing to get past Town's defender Miles Kavanagh he was through on to the goal with only the keeper to beat, he made know mistake with a great finish.

It looked like Swifts had won the game, with only a couple of minutes left. Swifts put the ball out for a throw in level with the eighteen yard box, the throw was taken and the ball was crossed in to the penalty area, striker Robins struck the ball but he was to be denied again by the keeper, but the rebound came out to super-sub Riley Curzon who poked the ball over the line.

Horncastle Town suffered a home defeat on Sunday when they hosted Louth Old Boys.  Town's keeper Kieran Johnson had to be replaced before the game had even begun after injuring himself in the warm-up, Travis Ayres took his place in the Town goal.  It was Town who created  the first chance, a throw on the left found Charlie Harrison, his long range effort was well saved by the visiting keeper.

Louth's first chance was also a long range effort, as the ball went goal wards, Travis Ayres in the Town goal appeared to have everything under control, unfortunately he dropped the ball and it fumbled over the line.
Town having good possession of the ball worked the ball to Joe Kirk on the right wing, he crossed to Henry Wilson who found strike partner Harry Close who's shot was well saved by the keeper putting it out for a corner. The corner came in from the right, the ball was headed back to Charlie Harrison who was on the edge of the box and he smashed the ball over the keeper to level the game.

Louth had another long range effort this time Travis parried the ball onto his post, the ball came back and the Louth striker had anticipated the rebound to put the ball into the net. There was still time before half-time for Archie Offord and Henry Wilson to test the Louth goalkeeper but he saved well on both occasions.

As the second half started the wind picked up and unfortunately for Town they would be playing against it. A corner from Archie Offord saw Logan Waby make his run into the box, he headed the ball with the keeper beaten the ball hit the post and Louth cleared.  Louth made the most of the windy conditions putting the Town's defence under constant pressure. They soon managed to make all their hard work pay off. A Louth player crossed the ball into the six yard area, Town failed to clear the danger and the Louth striker poked the ball into the net.

Within minutes Louth added to their score line as Town defender Ricky Marceniuk tried to clear the ball but unfortunately put the ball into the back of his own net.

As the game was coming to an end a ball played down the centre split the Town defence, their striker ran onto the ball as Travis came off his line to close him down a Louth player took the ball past him and put it into the empty net.

Towns u11s first league game of the season away at a very organised Rustons team ended in defeat .Rustons settled better than Town having all the early chances as Town struggled to get out of their own half. A great save by Kieran kept Town in the game but it wasn’t long before all their pressure paid off. A ball played in from the right bounced in the six yard box, no Town player cleared the danger and the ball came down to a unmarked player who tapped the ball into the net.

Town started the 2nd half very well, Harry having a shot well saved by the keeper frustrated Town ,with Town playing some nice football in the opposition half. Henry out on the right cut inside fired his shot past the keeper only for the teams celebrations to be halted after he was judged to be offside .A controversial drop ball resulted with Town going further behind, the ball broke out to the left the striker placed the ball past Kieran.

There was still time for a penalty claim against a Ruston defender as he appeared to handle the ball but the referee waved away Towns appeals. Making his debut for Town Logan dribbled the ball into the area hit his shot towards the goal only to be denied again by the keeper.

Kieran Johnson, Miles Kavanagh, Ollie Dean, Ricky Marcenuik, Travis Ayres, Joe Kirk, Archie Offord, Harry close, Logan Waby, Chris Bargh, Riley Curzon, Daniel Robins, Henry Wilson
