Horncastle Town's Ability Counts team were chosen to represent Lincolnshire in a Regional Tournament that was held at Cherry Willingham Community School. Town were playing against Derby County, Notts County, Northampton Town and Leicester but despite the quality of the opposition they acquitted themselves extremely well on the day.

Their first game was against Derby County and Town won by three goals to nil. A single goal reverse followed against Notts County before a very strong Northampton side comprehensively beat them.
